British Landscape Painter | Atmospheric Oil Paintings of UK Landscapes & Seascapes
Welcome! I'm a British landscape artist working between the wild beauty of Wales and the rolling hills of the Derbyshire Dales. I specialise in original, atmospheric oil paintings that explore the ever-changing light, colour, and emotion of the British landscape. I love being out in nature, feeling that connection through the elements and painting huge, expansive skies. However, I do still enjoy drawing and painting from life.
My work is rooted in impressionism and sometimes leans towards semi-abstraction.
I’m especially drawn to dramatic skies and cloudscapes — the kind that shift quickly and stir deep feeling. Rather than aiming for a photographic likeness, I try to capture the essence of a moment: how it felt to stand in that place, in that light, under that sky.
I primarily work in oil on canvas using brushes, palette knives and other tools to build bold textures and impasto layers. I also enjoy working plein air in the tradition of the Impressionists — there's nothing quite like painting outdoors, immersed in the landscape.
While oil is my main medium, I also experiment with gouache, watercolours, inks, pastels and charcoal in my sketchbooks or when working on location. These studies often inform my larger studio pieces.

I love working with collectors to create bespoke landscape paintings that reflect places close to their heart. If there’s a view or memory you’d like to capture on canvas, I’d be delighted to discuss a commission. Please note that oil paintings take a long time to dry so, to avoid disappointment, please take that into account especially if it is a present for a loved one.
